Steps to Off-Campus Study

In order to study away, you must go through Stevenson University and the Office of International & Off-Campus Study. This is the only way to receive assistance with the transfer of credit and possible utilization of financial aid.

To begin planning your off-campus experience, follow the below steps:

1) Explore the variety of options on the International and Off-Campus Study application site at

2) Consult your academic advisor (or student success coach) regarding remaining courses for degree completion (e.g. general education, electives, major, minor) and what can be taken off-campus to fulfill them.

3) Complete the Off-Campus Study Interest Profile online (for “SU in” and Affiliate Programs only). This includes viewing the ‘IOCS 101’ presentation (for “SU in” and Affiliate Programs only), found in the Interest Profile. If you are going on an Affiliate Program, this step must be completed before submitting the program-specific application.

4) Meet with the Office of International and Off-Campus Study to discuss options. Schedule an appointment by contacting For a SU Travel Course, contact the faculty leader for additional information.

5) Complete the online application for your desired option by the stated deadline.

6) Explore scholarship options well in advance—deadlines can occur even before program applications are due.
